Customised software solutions for efficient processes
When deciding on a configuration solution, the sustainable benefits for the users and the processes should always be considered in addition to deciding on the correct approach and the appropriate technology. In line with the requirements and ideas of its customers, ORISA offers software solutions based on various technologies and advises customers during the selection process.
Configuration solutions based on CREALIS®
ORISA’s standardised configuration system CREALIS® has a comprehensive portfolio with numerous functions. CREALIS® PDM is the comprehensive maintenance environment for all data and dependencies that are required as part of a configuration solution. No programming knowledge is required when carrying out the data maintenance work. CREALIS® CPQ is the product configurator, which has its basis in the PDM data. It offers extensive role concepts, for example for retail scenarios, the security features of a modern cloud solution, and up-to-date, user-friendly functionality for use on all common devices. What’s more, it comes with modules such as an engaging 3D display and a CRM system that ensures seamless integration with particular emphasis on sales tasks.
The web-based solution CPQ solution, which has its basis in the ORISA’s CREALIS® configurator, offers the greatest possible efficiency, functionality and flexibility in the generation of quotes, including feasibility checks, parts list resolution and 3D visualisation. An offline version is also available. As a general rule, the configurator is opened from within the CRM system. If a configuration process concludes with the creation of an associated parts list, this is used for pricing and determining the delivery time from the relevant scheduled times in the ERP system. Finally, the CRM system delivers a binding quote to which data sheets, technical drawings, manuals and overviews of accessories can be added.
Configuration solutions based on SAP®
Configuration solutions based on the SAP® variant configurator SAP® IPC also offer a highly comprehensive range of functions. It is often the case that the system cannot be used out-of-the-box, as the standardised package may not meet all requirements in terms of usability and range of functions. However, the SAP platforms provide sufficient approaches for adapting and expanding the front-end and back-end individually, for example. This means that the standardised ERP processes can be applied to a wide range of configuration solutions. ORISA has implemented a wide range of solutions in this environment, from minimal adaptations of the SAP® IPC user interface to completely independent offline solutions.
Extension and adaptation of a B2B system for the configuration of pumps
WILO AG, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of pumps and pump systems, has introduced a new B2B system for the sale of submersible pumps with the assistance of ORISA Software GmbH. The “WILO EMU Shop” offers WILO subsidiaries the possibility of configuring pumps according to customer specifications and to create quotes in the local language. The basis of the B2B system is the shop system SAP Internet Sales with the configuration application SAP® IPC. The system was expanded by ORISA to include customer-oriented functions and the interface was made more user-friendly.
Customised configuration solutions
Another approach to achieving the optimal configuration solution could also be custom development. As a software provider, ORISA has the necessary expertise when it comes to implementing modern and sustainable solutions. There are many reasons for not opting for standard software. One reason may be the existing technical framework, which places very strict requirements on the technology used. As a result, many standard solutions are simply non-starters and those that remain under consideration do not offer the desired range of functions. A very wide-ranging customised functional scope could be another motive, which would involve too many alterations to a standard software package. Thus, it sometimes becomes challenging for the standard software provider to guarantee long-term support if the standard software needs to undergo strategic development. In addition, the database that is available sometimes contributes to the decision to follow an individual path. It is not always possible to map extensive data structures and integrated dependencies with a standardised structure. In this case, the best approach is to develop a state-of-the-art, high-performance rule engine.
Using the Highly Integrated Tool (HIT) for the optimal design of smart HVAC systems
Siemens Building Technologies as a division of Siemens Schweiz AG combines offerings for building security, building automation and economical building operation in one company — both as a service provider and as a provider of complete systems, tailor-made individual solutions and a manufacturer of corresponding products.
ORISA Software implemented the HVAC Integrated Tool (HIT) for Siemens. As a simple and intelligent tool and through an intuitive sequence of work steps in HIT any HVAC control device can be selected and documented — whether as a single product or in a system configuration.
The ORISA team will gladly advise you on the optimum technology for your project. We have amassed decades of experience from our involvement in a wide variety of projects and will find the right solution for your requirements. You can trust in our expertise.
